FROM FEASIBILITY TESTING TO SMALL SCALE PRODUCTION

VTA offers glass laboratory units to determine feasibility of the distillation process by only using small product amounts. These units are offered as single- and multi-stage wiped film or short path distillation plants.

The key components in lab scale systems are fabricated in borosilicate glass. This enables observation of product properties like foaming, fouling and film distribution on the heated shell during distillation. Glass plants equipped with continuous feed and discharge systems allow the production of sample amounts up to several kilograms.

  • Operating pressure:
    • Wiped Film Evaporator: down to 0.1mbara
    • Short Path Evaporator: down to 0.001 mbara
  • Heating temperature: max. 350 °C
  • Standard evaporator size: 0.01 m² - 0.15 m² (Larger evaporators on request)
  • Material of construction: borosilicate glass, stainless steel and special alloys
